History

Like so many parts of this ministry, the path leading to the School of New Hope has clear markings of God’s touch.  It is located in Kumara, a neighbor village to Mothbaria.  Although Kumara’s population is almost entirely Hindu, there is a small Christian congregation, pastored by Mr. Sandjoy Roi.  Pastor Roi it turns out, chose to serve Christ after reading and studying a bible given him by a American 10 years earlier.  You guessed it, that American was Afzal on his first visit to his home village of Mothbaria!

Hakim Development Fund agreed to build the School of New Hope on land provided by residents of Kumara.  HDF support provides five teachers and school supplies to nearly 180 students studying and learning within its walls.

In an ongoing sign of God’s presence, nearly 135 families of Kumara recently received Christ and were baptized in a nearby lake.  The facility also serves as a church for these new Christians.
